Recruiter warning: nobody should pay for a spa job

Employers pay recruiters. A request for a placement, visa or processing fee before an offer is the sign of a scam, and in the UAE it is illegal.

Recruiter warning: nobody should pay for a spa job

We hear the same story every month: a therapist paid a recruiter for a Gulf or cruise job that did not exist, or existed on terms nothing like the promise. The rule is simple and worth repeating. Legitimate employers pay recruitment costs. A recruiter who asks the candidate for a placement fee, a visa fee before a written offer, or a "processing" payment is either breaking the law of the destination — the UAE prohibits charging candidates — or is not a recruiter at all. The network's jobs board, SpaOpportunities.in, lists only employers and agencies that agree never to charge candidates. Read the work-abroad guides before you sign anything, and report fee requests to us.
