Spa Reception & Guest Services

Bookings, yield, retail and recovery. The entry job that becomes supervisor in two years.

Spa Reception & Guest Services

Reception is the fastest way into a hotel spa without treatment training, and the role from which supervisors are most often promoted. "Spa receptionist jobs" is searched 880 times a month in the UK alone. The job is bookings, diary yield, retail and gift vouchers, arrival and hand-over, complaints and reporting — done to a standard, it changes a spa's revenue.

The route

The Spa Front Desk & Guest Experience course — four weeks online, two live sessions, a desk-standards manual you keep — then a desk placement with a partner employer where possible. No licence anywhere.

Where it leads

Spa reception and guest services, spa coordinator, supervisor within two years, and the Spa Management Certificate for those who want the office. Hotel front-office staff rotating into spa use the same route.

Questions

Do I need to know the treatments?

Enough to describe, schedule and sell them. The course teaches that; a good spa teaches the rest on the job.
