Beautician & Beauty Therapy
The parlour and salon trade: skin, threading and waxing, nails, basic makeup, hygiene. India's biggest entry route.

"Beautician course" is searched 14,800 times a month in India — more than every spa-management term in every market combined — and "beauty parlour course" another 4,400. It is the entry route into the salon trade for hundreds of thousands of people a year, taught by neighbourhood academies of uneven quality. The pathway sets a written standard and connects the theory to practical hours at accredited academies.
What a beautician does
Skin care and facials, threading and waxing, manicure and pedicure, basic and bridal makeup, and the salon routines — hygiene, sterilisation, bookings, retail — that keep clients coming back. In India the bridal season is the economic engine; in the UK the equivalent qualification is Level 2 Beauty Therapy; in the Gulf a certificate from a recognised institute is checked when the employer applies for your work visa.
The route
The Beautician Course on the Institute of Spa Management (₹24,000, Hindi transcripts, three instalments) for theory, plus practical hours at a partner academy or a salon that hosts hours. Graduates enter the register searched by salon employers on SalonsIndia.com and SpasIndia.com; members of the Salon Association of India pay a discounted fee.
Where it leads
Salon and parlour work, bridal makeup practice, spa reception with treatment knowledge, and — with the Salon Management course — the manager's chair.

Questions
Is it recognised by the government?
It is a professional certificate co-badged by the Spa & Wellness Association of India and the Salon Association of India, not an NSDC award. Partner academies that also offer NSDC-aligned certificates are marked on their pages.
Can I study in Hindi?
