Makeup Artistry
Bridal, editorial and everyday makeup; the wedding-season economy of South Asia and the Gulf.

Makeup artistry is unlicensed almost everywhere and judged on a portfolio, which makes it the most open pathway and the most crowded. "Makeup artist course" is searched 5,400 times a month in India, where the wedding season is the industry's economic calendar; in the Gulf, bridal and event makeup commands premium prices; in the UK and North America, editorial and film work sits alongside bridal.
What you learn
Skin preparation, colour theory, bridal (South Asian, Western, Arab styles), editorial and photographic makeup, hygiene and kit management, and the business of a freelance artist — pricing, deposits, contracts, portfolio.
The route
The makeup module of the Beautician Course plus practical days at a partner academy; a portfolio shoot is part of the assessment at most partners.
Where it leads
Freelance bridal and event work, salon and brand-counter roles, film and fashion assisting. Many artists pair it with esthetics for year-round income.

Questions
Is a certificate needed at all?
Not legally. Clients book on a portfolio; salons and brands hire on a certificate plus portfolio. Both matter.
