Studying in Singapore
Studying spa and beauty in Singapore: CPE-registered private schools, WSQ beauty and spa qualifications, the Massage Establishments licence, student passes, costs and where the network's first institute began in 2005.

The network's first institute was founded in Singapore in 2005, and the city remains the region's cleanest place to train: private schools are registered with the Committee for Private Education, beauty and spa skills sit inside the national WSQ framework, and employers trust the paperwork. It is also expensive, and the Massage Establishments Act shapes what a spa may offer and who it may hire.
Qualifications
WSQ Beauty and Spa modules are the local currency; international awards (CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC) are recognised by hotel spas. Partner schools in Singapore teach to WSQ and to the network standard.
Student passes and work
CPE-registered schools can support a Student's Pass for full-time courses; part-time work rights are limited. Spa and salon jobs after graduation depend on a work pass, and quotas for foreign staff apply — plan on the S Pass route through a hotel group.
Costs
Among the highest in Asia for fees and living; the pay-off is the recognition of the certificate across the region and the density of five-star hotel spas to work in afterwards. Listings and employers on SpasSingapore.net and SpasWorldwide.com.
Questions
Is a WSQ certificate recognised abroad?
As evidence of good training, yes, especially in the Gulf and on cruise lines. It is not a licence anywhere else.
